BMW - open for business on eBay
Remarkably, BMW are the first car maker to open up shop on eBay in the UK – BMW Direct – and although such a move would have been frowned on just a few years ago it now makes huge sense. It’s clear that this is aimed at parts for older BMWs – where owners wouldn’t normally consider visiting a BMW dealer to grab parts to keep their pride and joy on the road – rather than aiming at the owner of a new M5 grabbing a set of pads to shove on over the weekend. This is our first look at the new Volvo estate car concept that’ll be shown at the 2014 Geneva motor show. Called the Volvo ES Concept, it’s the third and final design study from Volvo’s new chief designer Thomas Ingenlath, who’s been pinched from Volvo rival VW to pen a sharp and sexy new range of Swedish metal to take on the dominant Germans. We’ve seen Ingenlath’s idea of a BMW 4-series-sized coupe, and an XC90-previewing SUV.
The redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion, recalled earlier this week for potential fires in the 1.6-liter engine, is now being recalled for a headlight fix. The headlights don’t meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that an improperly cured projector coating will become hazy, reducing the brightness of the low-beam lamp.
